The Kneaded Culinary Academy creates a therapeutic and supportive learning environment where youth acquire hands-on culinary skills while developing protective factors that deter substance use. Our program integrates financial literacy, job placement training, and higher education support to prepare students for long-term success.Students train in a commercial kitchen under the supervision of credentialed, professional chefs, gaining real-world culinary experience. These skills support youth in their transition to adulthood and empower them to become independent, healthy, and self-sufficient individuals.
For the past 11 years, the Culinary Academy has maintained a 98% job placement and higher education continuation rate. Since 2009, more than 5,000 students have graduated from the program, with an additional 550 students on track to graduate by the end of June. The Kneaded Culinary Academy is committed to reaching youth wherever they are. Classes are offered at Rebekah Children’s Services and 10 additional locations, across Santa Clara, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties.
Through our newest partnership with Gavilan College, over 50 students have successfully completed two semesters and earned a State of California Certificate of Completion in Hospitality and Culinary Careers marking an exciting expansion of postsecondary pathways for our students.
